September Update: Locking Addresses and Sneak Peeks

Hi everyone,
Welcome to what is likely to be the FINAL behind-the-scenes progress update on this project. From now on, our regular monthly posts will be replaced with updates about the fulfilment of your rewards. Exciting times.
We would love to know how you plan on using One-Shot Wonders in your games. Will you be using it to add side quests to your long-term campaign? Or, do you run weekly one-shots at your local gaming club, and need a stash of great sessions? Let us know in the comments!
Before we get on to what we've been up to this month, I have an important announcement about shipping addresses.
Locking Addresses
The shipping address in your BackerKit pledge manager will be locked onFriday29thSeptember. This is the address that we will use when it is time to start delivering your physical rewards next month.
If you expect your address may change in the near future, we recommend you update the address in your pledge manager to one that you know you will be able to collect your rewards from (such as a workplace, relative or friend). Please make any necessary changes by this date, as we cannot guarantee that we will be able to amend your address after itis locked.
Behind-the-Scenes Progress
After sending One-Shot Wonders to print at the end of August, the past few weeks have been dedicated to checking printer samples and quality, and confirming specs. Here's a sneak peek of the full interior sample we received – seeing it all together like this is such a fantastic feeling. If you don't like spoilers, look away now!
The printers have also carried out numerous gold foil tests on the Collector's Edition to find the perfect foil to work with the faux-leather cover fabric and the intricate design. Here are some photos of the most recent test, before it moves into mass production. It really is looking stunning.
We've also been carrying out a similar process of checks and approvals for all our extra rewards, such as maps and pre-generated character booklets, and all the packaging required to ship your products. This is a real team effort, helped hugely by our manufacturing partners. We can't wait for you to see the finished products.
Preparing to Fulfil
Physical Fulfilment
The beautiful glass dice and scroll cases are already in our UK warehouse, ready to go (take a look at the video below). Once we receive the One-Shot Wonders books and other rewards, we will work with our trusted distribution team to start packing your orders. These are currently on track to start being shipped at the end of October. We will be in touch again next month to share expected delivery timeframes for our backers around the world.
Work is in progress on a redesigned digital reward fulfilment process for our new website, to make this as seamless and user-friendly as possible. We are aiming to begin digital fulfilment in the week commencing 16th October, and will be in touch with instructions closer to the time.

August Update: Sent to Print!

Hi everyone, Sam here.
There's nothing to update you on this month, sorry.
Oh, wait, there was one thing... ONE-SHOT WONDERS WAS SENT TO THE PRINTERS ON MONDAY!!
We have all worked so hard to get the book to this point, and we couldn't be more proud of the final result. The maps look incredible, the illustrations are fabulous, and the adventures are really varied and unique. I can't wait to hear stories of different parties interacting with the plots, characters and monsters within.
Next stop, fulfilment
Physical Fulfilment
In September, we'll be meticulously checking proofs and printer files, as well as finalising back covers and barcodes. Then, in October, we'll be preparing our warehouse and briefing our fulfilment teams. I'll share some updates and photos from the next stages of the process, as it continues.
We're currently on track to start shipping out to Kickstarter backers at the end of October.
Digital fulfilment
All PDFs and digital rewards will also be fulfilled in October. Before that, we are working on converting the files into a digital viewing format with internal links. We're also working with developers to redesign our digital reward fulfilment process for our new website, to make this as seamless and user-friendly as possible. Stay tuned for more information on this.
If you're looking for sessions to run before October, all Kickstarter backers can still access the 10 playtest one-shots for free on our Discord server, on the One-Shot Wonders Playtesting channel.
Playtesting surveys closed
A huge thanks to everyone who playtested adventures from One-Shot Wonders, it was great to hear what you thought of the book after running the games. When asked 'Overall, how would you rate this one-shot', the majority of our playtesters rated the adventures as 'Excellent', the highest grade. We were blown away by how excited everyone was, and really enjoyed reading the feedback and taking your comments onboard.

A special shout-out goes to the party who managed to hijack a boat and drive it into the restaurant when playing the Fishy Business one-shot, we have no idea how you did this, but it sounds like you had a ton of fun.

July Update: Writing is Wrapping Up

Hey there, backers!
I hope you're all doing great. I wanted to share some exciting updates about One-Shot Wonders, which is only a few months away from physical and digital fulfilment. Can you believe it?
One-Shots Almost Complete
We only need to write a handful of stories before we complete all the one-shots in the book. Almost a year ago, we set out to create over 100 diverse and immersive adventures – I have to say, it's incredible that this vision has almost become a reality. One-Shot Wonders is really looking like a book, now!
Welcoming Destiny Howell
A few months back, we commissioned Destiny Howell to guest-write some of the stories in the book. She is a published fiction author and the creator of the Absolutely No Adventures podcast (which you should totally check out, it's awesome). Destiny has brought her creative genius to her sessions in One-Shot Wonders, and let me tell you, these one-shots are a ton of fun. You're in for a treat with her contributions, please give her a warm welcome in the comments.
One of Destiny's adventures is about a boarding school infested with ghosts. Who you gonna call? The party of course!
Cover Finishes
We received the latest cover finish samples from the printer, and wow, they're jaw-dropping! The standard edition will feature a beautiful cloth pattern, and the collector's edition will come wrapped in a stunning faux-leather cover that will make it a true collector's item. I cannot wait to see these with their foil stamping and final designs printed on them. Let us know what you think in the comments.
Sneak Peek of the World Map
I'm excited to be able to share a sneak peek of the World Map with you. We teamed up with the incredible Venatus Maps to create this breathtaking bit of cartography. Sprawling fantasy city, check; mysterious caves and ruins, check; shipwrecks full of loot, check; uncharted islands, check; roads and rivers, check.

Critical Role
Here's a bit of extra awesomeness: last week, One-Shot Wonders was featured on one of our favourite Twitch streams, Critical Role! Hearing their reactions and excitement about the book was a real "pinch me" moment. We're so pumped that they loved it, and we know you will too.

June Update: New Sample Showcase

Hi everyone,
We have some exciting updates to share with you about One-Shot Wonders!
Firstly, we want to thank everyone who visited us at MCM London Comic Con and the UK Games Expo over the past couple of weekends. We gave away approximately 750 free one-shot previews from our stands, and the response has been incredible! We received loads of positive feedback, and it was fantastic to hear your enthusiasm for our project. The one and only Mark Hulmes from High Rollers also stopped by to have a flick through!
Secondly, we recently received a shiny new sample from the printers. It features the stunning foil and spot varnish on the front cover, and looks incredible. Not only that, but we also have a broader range of interiors compared to our previous sample! We're delighted with how it's shaping up, and I'm confident that you'll love it too. Take a look inside – how good does the Blackout Bay map look??
Thirdly, we're excited to announce that we are in the final stages of preparing the next round of playtest one-shots. These will be sent out in the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned. Your valuable feedback and insights have been instrumental in shaping this project and the adventures we're writing, and we really appreciate your involvement.

We are all hard at work on the book, and progress is continuing at a good pace. One of my favourite one-shots that was finalised recently involves the owners of a jewellery shop defending themselves from a mischievous group of shoplifting sprites! It's a really fun adventure, and I think it'll be a popular one once the books are in your hands.
